The Fountain of Light began as a fangame to Zelda A Link to the Past for RPG Maker XP and turned into a small online mmo. The story did involve the golden land turning back into the dark world and the dark world flooding into the light realm. The only way to reverse it was to find the fountain of light (like the fountain of youth sorta).
What I need you to do is to take the "Zelda" out of the Story.
That is you assignment at this time.

Would you like this as a title crawl(like at the opening of Wind Waker), a synopsis, or a script?

I want to use it for the game prologue. You can storyboard it out ,outline it, or just write it in story version. I want to know the style your comfortable with, but that can still be translated into the game.

I'll draft up a story board setting the tone. Obviously it'll be sans pictures but I'll include a description of the scenes.

When the world was young, it was a violent place, plunged in darkness.
(Scene of a dark, shadowy, crag filled land)

The light of life was almost completely stamped out…
Monsters and demons ruled in a land without hope.

(Scene of winged beasts flying and horrible beasts laying waste to a town)

The light, however, was not without its champions...
Deep in seclusion, hidden from the world, a young priestess forged a tool to drive back the darkness…

The Fountain of Light.
(Scene of a robed woman with her back to us, standing in front of a large pillar of light)

The Fountain drove back the darkness, exiling its forces to a realm beyond our own.

(Scene of light eradicating/disintegrating demons and monsters)

The work of the priestess single handedly saved the world….
And The Light rewarded her.

(Scene of the robed girl being lifted by a beam of light)

Elevating her to godhood, she became the protector of the realm…
A lone guardian, against the realm of darkness.
(Scene of her, clearly changed by her godlike powers, holding her hands over a globe and glowing with light)

Over the eons, the world has known untold peace…
The horrors of the past are simply fairy tales.

(Scene of a brightly lit valley, a town or city off in the distance, sun pouring down onto it)

And The Fountain of Light has become lost to the world…
The tool of the goddess, its location lost to time…
Forgotten by the world that no longer needs it.

(Scene of an ornate fountain, covered by moss and surrounded by overgrowth.)

And in time, the memories of the goddess were lost…
Her powers waning, she left our plane, believing her world to be safe.

(Same scene of the goddess over the world, but she’s fading away)

And for a time, it was.
(Pure black screen)

But in the absence of light….

There is darkness.

(Close up scene of a bunch of demons and monsters together, glowing eyes and gritting their teeth)

Without the protection of the goddess, and with the fountain only a distant memory…
The agents of darkness crept back unto our world to satiate an eons old thirst for destruction.
(Scene of winged monsters flying against darkened clouds with legions of monsters marching on the ground below them)

And now, the world finds itself in chaos again, left defenseless against the darkness.

(Scene of the monsters clashing with soldiers)

Rumors began to circulate, rumors of a place untouched by the world for thousands of years…
A place where a tool crafted by a long dead goddess lay in wait to banish the darkness…

And so, many have taken up the call to find this place…
To drive back the darkness….to become one with the light…
Even to achieve godhood.
(Scene of adventurers travelling across the different parts of the land)

How about some spriting example since you said you could do that also?
